Marketing Analytics and Research

How can you truly know if you’re successful if you haven’t matched up your goals with your results? That’s true in life, and it’s true in marketing. You have to know where you started to know where you’re improving. You need to know what’s working and what’s not to make the necessary adjustments and get where you wanna go.

I also come from a marketing research background- and firmly believe that all great marketing is rooted in a deep knowledge of the customer, brand and industry. Sometimes that means getting into some Primary Research for your brand- the kind of data we collect ourselves. Other times we can go the secondary route, getting data from relevant and available sources to help us make some informed decisions about the future.

Let’s Talk About Advanced Analytics Reporting

I provide advanced analytics reporting at the end of each month, so you know exactly how a campaign or campaigns performed and what we learned from it. Then, I provide recommendations for what we should continue doing and what we should stop. I find that this is the perfect way to ensure my clients know we’re trying new things without wasting money on stuff that just doesn’t work. This process is always flexible to ensure you’re getting the detail you need when you need it.

For me, I like to focus on ROI. You’re spending your hard-earned money, and I want to ensure we’re getting a return on that investment. So let’s say you’re spending $2K on a paid ads. I want to see where you’re at before a single red cent has been spent. Then, we’ll run a campaign, and I’ll measure where you’re at throughout and where you end up. Based on the results, we’ll decide how we want to tweak the campaign to produce optimum returns for your business, and build from there.

Just a note, I’m skilled in everything from web platforms (from WordPress, to Netsuite), Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, Mailchimp and Constant Contact, so you know you’re getting a professional who can make sense of any platform. I take all this data and consolidate it into one easy to read report each month, that allows you to see the full picture of what your marketing is worth. I can also help you learn it with my Consulting services.

Research is Key

Research isn’t a one-size-fits-all methodology. However, I do have a process I like to go through when it comes to Marketing Research, and it goes a lil’ something like this:

  1. First, we work together to decide what is the key question we are trying to get an answer to. Do we have a new product line we need feedback on? Are we trying to determine why sales are down y/y?
  2. From there, I determine the best methodology to get some answers (i.e. is this a focus group, a survey, an interview), and provide you with a plan that outlines “who” we need to talk to and “how” we plan on gathering this data.
  3. Then we get into development- this could mean a qualitative and/or quantitative survey, maybe individual or group interviews with clients or stakeholders, maybe a mix of both. I make sure we are asking the right questions of the right people.
  4. Now it’s time for the fun part: analysis. I dig deep to put together a comprehensive report. This way, you get the data you need to make the best decisions for your business. I will walk you through everything step by step so you have a true understanding of what others are saying about your brand.
